I’ve been on a search for the best creatine. During my search, I came across Anabolic Warfare’s creatine products. They both looked like good options, so I tried them both. I’ll use my experience to put these products into a head-to-head comparison. Anabolic Warfare Creatine Carnage vs. Anabolic Warfare Creatine Monohydrate. Which is better? You’ll find out here.

When I first received the containers, I really liked the overall look of the packaging. Black and gold has always been one of my favorite combos. The containers are also a nice size to store them easily. So we were off to a good start right away.

You’re probably wondering, Creatine Carnage and Creatine Monohydrate are both creatine products. What’s the difference between them?

Anabolic Warfare’s Creatine Carnage is a creatine HCL product. Creatine Monohydrate from Anabolic Warfare is a pure creatine monohydrate product. The main difference between creatine HCL and monohydrate is the absorption rate. Creatine HCL is more water soluble and absorbs faster.

Now that you know the main difference between the two, you probably still want to know how they compare. I’ll break down everything you should know in this article. Let’s get started.

Key Takeaways

  • Creatine Carnage and Creatine Monohydrate from Anabolic Warfare have about the same effectiveness.
  • The main difference between these products is the price.
  • The main complaint with them is the added sweetener tastes a bit weird.

How Effective are Anabolic Warfare Creatine Carnage and Monohydrate?

I gave both of these products their due diligence. Creatine Carnage comes in a 50-serving container. I took it for a full 50 days. Anabolic Warfare Creatine Monohydrate comes in a 60-serving container. So I took that one for 60 days.

From my experience, I felt like these both performed about the same. Studies have shown creatine HCL and monohydrate yield about the same results. So that could be expected that they would make you feel the same when taking them.

I can always tell when I stop taking creatine. I’ll start to have a bit less energy in my workouts. I get to that point where I can’t quite pump out those last couple of reps I used to. When I took these products, I felt like they performed as creatine should. They helped me get some extra energy and power in my training sessions.

How Do Anabolic Warfare’s Creatine Supplements Compare to Other Products?

These creatine products are relatively the same as many other options. If it’s pure creatine powder that you want, you’ll have a lot of products to choose from. That means the main factor comes down to the price per serving. The table below will compare Anabolic Warfare Creatine Carnage and Monohydrate to Bulk Supplements Creatine Monohydrate

FeatureAnabolic Warfare Creatine CarnageAnabolic Warfare Creatine MonohydrateBulk Supplements Creatine Monohydrate
Price$44.99$34.99$23.96
Servings Per Container5060100
Cost Per Serving$0.90$0.58$0.24
Type of CreatineCreatine HCLCreatine MonohydrateMicronized Creatine Monohydrate

As far as cost per serving, Bulk Supplements Creatine blows both of these out of the water. They also micronized their creatine monohydrate. Micronizing makes it absorb a little better. But creatine HCL will still absorb a bit faster than any form of creatine monohydrate.

That said, how fast it absorbs doesn’t matter much with creatine. A creatine supplement will work by building up stores in the body over time. You will build up stores slightly faster with a creatine HCL product. But in the long term, it makes no difference. You will still absorb 100% of the creatine monohydrate you take; it just takes a bit longer.

The main purpose of creatine HCL is a gimmick to sell creatine for higher prices. You’ll be just as well off with a creatine monohydrate product you can get for cheaper. So if you want the cheapest possible, go with something like Bulk Supplements. If you want it to come in a nicer container and smaller size, Anabolic Warfare Creatine Monohydrate is still a good choice.

I will note Creatine Carnage is at a good price per serving for an HCL product. It’s rare you can find HCL priced at less than $1 per serving. So if you want creatine HCL, Carnage isn’t a bad option.

Anabolic Warfare Creatine Carnage vs. Monohydrate – Which Tastes and Mixes Better?

As far as taste and mixability, I found that the creatine monohydrate tasted and mixed better. You would think the better water solubility of HCL would make it mix better. However, Carnage was actually kind of hard to mix. Both these products are a natural flavor. But Carnage also had a bit more of a weird sweetener added to it.

Creatine Monohydrate from Anabolic Warfare also didn’t mix the best. But that’s not uncommon for creatine products. It did mix better than Carnage, though. It also tasted better. There was still that added sweetener taste, but it wasn’t as strong.

Creatine Carnage vs. Monohydrate – Which is Priced Better?

As mentioned earlier, Anabolic Warfare Monohydrate wins this one by a landslide. Both creatine monohydrate and HCL perform about the same. In this case, you pay $10 less per container of creatine monohydrate and get 10 extra servings per container. If price is a concern, monohydrate all the way.

Creatine Monohydrate vs. Carnage – Side Effects

As far as side effects are concerned, Carnage will come out on top for this one. I didn’t experience side effects with either, so it wasn’t an issue for me.

The possible side effects of creatine are:

  • Bloating
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Upset stomach
  • Cramps
  • Weight gain

Creatine monohydrate is a little bit more prone to having these side effects than HCL. However, that usually only occurs during a loading phase. But you don’t really need to do a loading phase with creatine. Most people won’t have side effects if you just take the recommended serving size.

My Overall Opinion on Anabolic Warfare’s Creatine Carnage vs. Monohydrate

Overall, I liked Anabolic Warfare’s Creatine Monohydrate quite a bit more. It’s simply a better value for the money. The taste and mixability were also better for the monohydrate. So I’d say it comes out as the winner in this battle.

To round out how both stack up, here’s a quick comparison.

My Overall Rating for Anabolic Warfare Creatine Monohydrate: ★★★★1/2

I’m giving this product a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. The main thing dropping it down a half-star is there are cheaper products on the market. I also wasn’t a huge fan of the added sweetener in it. But the flavor wasn’t as bad as Creatine Carnage.

My Overall Rating for Creatine Carnage: ★★★★

I still give Anabolic Warfare Creatine Carnage 4 stars out of 5. It is well-priced for a creatine HCL supplement. You won’t find many on the market priced better. That said, creatine HCL isn’t usually worth the extra price. This one also has a weird flavor and not the best mixability.

Final Thoughts

My final thought I would like to add is these are both solid products. You can’t really go wrong with either. Even the taste of Creatine Carnage is still bearable.

I’d go with Bulk Supplements Creatine Monohydrate if you want something cheaper. Otherwise, if you don’t want to buy in bulk, Anabolic Warfare Creatine Monohydrate is a good buy.
